Goatboy,

Good question. I no longer deal with it, because it doesn't exist for me anymore. Boredom is a state of mind, not a reality. When we experience it, it is a symptom of a much larger problem than wanting something to do. We have it, because we do not love ourselves. Sounds silly, but it's true. We are uncomfortable with ourselves, and need constant distraction to avoid dealing with our inner issues. When we are involved in constant activity, we don't have to think about who and what we are. This is not a natural state of affairs, and robs us of our peace. The only lasting solution to this problem, is readily available, but almost nobody ever seeks it. We must learn the truth of who and what we are, and why we exist. When we do, all of the fears and doubts about ourselves depart, and we are no longer driven to distractions. The truth is, that God exists. Not the God of man made religions. The God who created the universe, and all that is in it. He made us for a very specific reason. To become His family. When we come to Him as humble children, and invite Him into our lives, He places His Spirit into us, and bonds with us. We become new beings, part mortal, part Immortal. In time, the old values of materialism and fear fall away. Love and Wisdom become the foundation of all our choices. As we evolve into spiritually driven beings, the need to constantly divert our attention away from ourselves goes away. What we once knew as boredom, is forgotten. When we contemplate who we really are, and our position in the universe, we experience only confidence and peace.

Doing a large bank job in the city, then flying out to Rio avoiding the law.Counting the money(over 3 million in sterling) and going off to a nightclub to meet the rest of the firm and have a champagne party with whores, drugs, guns and strippers.
Then buying a 65ft cruiser and going off to tropical islands for a two week cruise with friends and birds to enjoy my ill gotten gains.
That's never boring that isn't.

Thinking that i am getting bored doing a thing...i try doin it more and more and start enjoying it. This happened to me more than once while reading fiction, classics, watchin videos. Fantasies or wild dreams also have played their role, i confess. Even if i think that i am getting bored in Yahoo Answers sometimes, i go to a different topic and try to answer and within 2 days i get 10 points for 'best answer' and that drives me more and more...
