The door handle on this car is up on the window--well...it has broke! Can't get in the car on this side, have to slide across the front seat from the passenger side. Does anyone know how much money we are looking at to get it repaired? And is it a difficult process to fix?

you could attempt the suspicious coil with a volt/ohmmeter fairly particularly to make certain. Set the type to the optimal resistance obtainable then touch the attempt probes first to the two extreme voltage spark plug connections. in case you get a examining it is sturdy; if there is not any substitute in the reveal it is undesirable (burned out). Now turn the coil over and attempt the low-voltage terminals on the returned; returned, if voltage flows it is effective, and if the resistance examining does not substitute, it is undesirable. ultimately touch one probe to the two extreme voltage plug terminal and the different probe to the two between the low voltage usual terminals. There could desire to be no voltage bypass in any respect; if there is the coil is undesirable (shorted). BTW: while performing those exams it is important which you do not touch the metallic information of the probes! Doing so could reason fake advantageous readings.

It looks like about $100.00 for a new handle assembly from a pontiac dealer. (It may be cheaper if it is available aftermarket from somewhere like auto zone)
The flat rate gives 3 tenths of an hour for installation. ($15.00 - $20.00)

They aren't hard to install, most do-it yourselfers can do it easily with a screwdriver and a 10mm wrench.
