Both I guess i do`nt mind a bit of fun, But if anyone ask`s a serious question I will research for the right answer, and if I end up helping someone it makes my day.

I can honestly state that every answer I have submitted on here, with the exception of a handful, I have deliberated over before submitting it. I try to elaborate as much as possible, at times going over a page in length in my responses. The few answers that I have posted that were not written with a great deal of thought were in response to questions that merited a jovial answer, as opposed serious consideration.
What I irritates me is when someone submits a substantive question on Yahoo Answers, and the respondent gives terse one word or one sentence responses. I guess it is indicative of a society whose attention span is steadily decreasing. What aggravates me even more is that some of the individuals who post the questions actually reward people who give short answers, bereft of substance, a best answer commendation, while snubbing those who give cogent lengthy responses.
If this forum is going to be reduced to intellectual laziness of that sort, you might as well change the name of the forum to Yahoo kids, or Yahoo retards.

Both. It just depends on the category. Like here at Polls and Surveys, I am having fun. When at the History category, I try to give good and intelligent answers.

Depends on what type of question it is! Mainly in Polls & Surveys, people are just asking for fun!

Wonder how many people just have never read the "COMMUNITY GUIDELINES" because they feel that since they're on the net no one will ever catch them just being annoying. It's akin to vandalism and rudeness, isn't it? Should we all just report them as abusers of yahoo answers?

i try to give well thought out answers and i sincerely hope i have so far but sometimes i get a little pissed at people and their narrow mindedness and blatant racism and just really nasty illegal stuff and i get drawn into a mean reply and that's wrong but you gotta admit some people are jerks you know

Hm that depends on what the question is. I would rather help out people then give them fake answers.

It depends on the type of question it is. Mostly if someone is asking a serious question and I can help, I will.
