what would you do if you found a bagful of money, say $20,000.00, at the backseat of a car you just rented?

return it to the owner-report to the police or better to the media, i'll surely become famous in an instant, plus i'll have a lot of honesty awards etc., then the rest of the world will help me after i'll tell them that am just an ordinary honest employee;)

immediately i would conceal the 20gs

i would change whatever i had scheduled...change all plans

drive around for a while...making double sure i am not being followed

eventually i would arrive back home with the 20gs...possibly i would have went into a walmart and bought a back pack or a suitcase to put the 20gs in

i would arrive back home and i would dig into the back of my closet and place this bag

then i would wait...wait at least three months...ninety days (waiting to see if anyone would come forth making a claim)

then everyweek without fail i would peel off one hundred dollars and drive around looking for those guys who sit on the side of the road with signs that say "will work for food, etc." and give them enought to go buy a bottle of booze, probably ten to twenty dollars and i would drive around searching for these people and on holidays i would extract an extra 200 and i would triple up on my generosity with the folks who stand on the side of the road begging for assistance

after a year of doing this i should have spent close to 7gs

leaving me with 13gs

at that point in time i would consider taking a vacation with 3gs

leaving me with 10gs

then i would go back to the one hundred dollars a week and an extra 200 on holidays

then at the end of the year i would have three thousand left...the last 3gs...then i would take another vacation




of course i could have turned in the money to the car rental company or i could have contacted the sheriff...of course i could have...i didn't

is it truly: finders keepers, losers weepers ?

Take it to the police. If it turns out to be drug money, there is usually a reward. If they find the owner and all is legit - the owner likely will give you a reward. If they can't find the owner and no one claims it in a year or two, it is usually given back to you.

The right, responsible and legal thing: I would report it to the local police, and if they can not find the person who owns the money, then it becomes mine at the end of the waiting period.

Any other answer is immature, illegal and unethical.

I would turn it in to the police, it would be too risky to keep it. How do you know where it came from? Maybe it's drug money and some bad guys are out looking to get it back.

Give it back because you don't now what is it for what if that money is for and operation or for a child that is sick whit a deadly disease. and beside is the honest thing to do think of the person that the money belongs to think how he/she must feel.

I would keep it for a while before spending it because I don't want any mobsters or anything coming after me. I wouldn't turn it in to the cops because they will keep it for themselves, even though they are not supposed to.
