Guppies will eat shredded earth worms but few people seem willing to shred them. Everyone has seen earthworm castings on lawns. The worms eat huge amounts of organic matter mixed with soil. They digest and absorb but a small proportion of what they ingest. Therefore, earthworms, shredded tend to muddy the water unless they are kept unfed for a day or two, or long enough for them to disgorge, or they may be shredded and placed into a fine net and rinsed.
To quickly gather a cup of earthworms without having to dig for them, put enough potassium permangenate crystals into a pail of water to make it a deep pink. Pour this solution on a patch of grass and the worms will start coming out of the ground in a few minutes. Although a bit messy, they are an excellent guppy food.

Males generally don't get in a hurry to eat they wil take their time and eat any that falls to the bottom. If there are more than 1 male in the tank they may be "Facing off" of intemidating each other from eating. My males take their time but they eat when I'm not watching.

small commercial foods, lettuce and peas and perfect for the guppies. Always press the peas between your finger and thumb to remove the seed coating. Remove any uneaten vegetable from the tank to avoid pollution. note: even brine shrimps are good but peas and lettuce are much more preffered.

My guppies eat every kind of food I give them: granules, dried tubifex(they like this a lot), flakes, living food(Daphnia, mosquito larves, Artemia salina).
They may eat when you not watch.

Try little bits of lettuce. Fish usually love lettuce. You will need to break it into very small pieces.
