some "experts" say that horses have the mentality of a 5 yr. old child, but I think that sometimes they are smarter than a 50 yr. old! They know when you're upset with them or something else and it makes them feel the same way. Dakota gives me a "what did I do?" look when I yell at him after he bites Patti and she squeals at him when he does it. (she has a really high-pitched squeal too!) But Dakota's just onery sometimes.

Dogs let you know when they're happy when they want to play or constantly lick you. (fun....) My dog got kinda depressed when our other 2 dogs died. He just walked around with the saddest look on his face...

Yes, I truely beleive that animals have feelings, then get lonley, angry, depressed, happy, then can be senstive to humans emotions, I beleive then know right from wrong after being taught, just like a child would have to be taught. I would go as far as saying that all animals have this ability.

I don't know if they know our concept of moral "right" and "wrong"... but my birds DO know the difference between biting to hurt and biting to warn. They have incredibly powerful beaks, but 99% of the time, nip only as hard as a little pinch. The other 1% (biting to hurt) is ONLY when provoked or angry (they do throw temper tantrums).

I think animals definitely have emotional feelings... though probably not labeled and named in the way that people experience emotions.

Yes, they have emotional feelings. If you talk to them in a nice tone they are happy to let you know they appreciate it, tail wagging, coming closer for more attention. If you scorn or yell at them, they will duck their head and go the other way. As far as right from wrong, They can be taught this also.

Yes. My dog was a puppy and he pooped upstairs. He would run down. We would go up to get something or do whatever in our rooms, and he would run around the house and hide from us. He knows when he does the wrong thing.

Yes...they can get sad and depressed. Or happy. They know right from wrong if you teach them. You can train them to not get on the furniture for example....they know that's wrong for them, and they don't do it. They're like mini people.

definitely, my puppy is mad as a hatter and still manages to realise when she's done wrong. she puts her head down and won't look at me, or the person who's going to scold her. she knows even before you give her a row. she's particularly attached to my dad and whenever he leaves the house or shuts a door on her, she lies down, whimpers and puts on her big sad eyes.
