I was watching the ABC news on TV the other night and was intrigued with the American angle on the war. Media coverage in Ireland and England is very strongly condemning the Isrealis and reporting on the amount of deaths of innocent Lebonese people. The American media is obviously on the Isrealis side. How do normal American people feel about this?

Well i would say that the majority of Americans are on Israel's side or they don't even care about what's going on in Lebanon. But why???
Because they had been fooled by there media which is controlled by the government, so they don't let any piece of reality pass to America, and why is the American government doing this???
Because they know that if the American people know what is really happening, they won't stay calm in front of the Israeli massacres and they will recognise that there governments is taking huge steps without consulting the people's opinion which means that there's no democracy in AMERICA in a country that's known of using the democracy in every step, and this will be the huge bomb that the government was afraid of, so the Americans will recognise that they were living a faked democracy.

Trouble is American news is extremely biased, and it is also mainly run by Jews so therefore they atre obviously going to be on the side of Israel...Yes they are also biased in the UK but there is not so many Jews here.
Also propaganda seems to be rife in the U.S. I think we all ought to try and find out the real reasons for this war and why is it in the interests of America for it to continue.
The strength of Israel is important to the West so it has a foothold in the Middle East, oil is the most important thing holding the economies together and trade routes need to be kept open, there is so much more to it then that but it is way more than exchanging a few prisoners, if the prisoners were released it would put a spanner in everyones works.

As an American this is some of what I believe.

First of all, it is a war in the Middle East between two legitimate nation states. It also has many agitators contributing to the grief.

This is a sad situation but it does not surprise me based on what I know and believe about the Human species.

All Human Beings have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

If another acts to take any of these away from you, you have the right and responsibility to do whatever it takes to protect and defend yourself.

Best Regards

No don't watch Geroge Galloway. The man has got a ******* screw loose in his head. He's a nasty little **** with some very very odd ideas.

He was even on TV the other day "gloating" over the deaths of Israeli Civillians and when the female interviewer rebuked him for it he started screaming about how she "valued Israeli blood more than Palestinian" (which I'm sure wasn't the case she was just repulsed at this nutter gloating over civillian deaths. How sick!)

The man is a nasty little crook who has been taking bung money off Saddam Hussein of all people. Please ignore this nutter and his bullshite views. He gives a very bad impression of Britain.

If he loves Islam so much he should convert and move to Iraq. Lets see how long he lasts over there before he gets kidnapped and executed for being a westerner!!!

I'm an American who didn't have an opinion until 8 days ago when I landed in Beirut. Now I feel like the US population is getting fed a lot of crap from our media. Some of the media is trying to get the real story out (the reporters here are working hard) but they are showing the US population far more of the Israeli point of view than they are of the Lebanese point of view. there are tons of Christian Lebanese here who never supported Hezbollah and they are being targetted now too.

As an American who knows better when watching the news put out by American media, I must say that I have to find alternative sources of information. I believe that average American accepts it and it is for this reason that people hate Arabs and Muslims. Because the media is completely one sided and it promotes more and more hatred.

There are a number of questions that come to mind.

How many of the "innocent civilians" are truly innocent and how many of them were forced to stay as human shields?
Hezbollah hides behind civilians and dresses like civilians. They also specifically target civilians. I find it interesting that no media outlet even mentions Israeli deaths (although they are smart and left till the war is done)

Until the terrorists are defeated there will be innocent deaths on both sides. They care nothing for the lives of their own countrymen and are harbingers of death and domination.

I myself am Australian and although I am not on either side I can see both however my husband is American and is completely behind the Isrealis. With no interest in even considering how it all came about or even to just simply understand the other sides...It is very frustrating.

I don't care if Israel is on of our biggest allies in the Middle East or not what they are doing to Lebanon civilians if inhumane. They should have tried to work out some diplomatic solution prior to war. I just hope this doesn't come around and bite the US in the *** like every other thing that happens in the Middle East does.
