She should try some Ginger Ale in the morning. Sip, do not chug it. Also, some saltine crackers along with it. Nibble, do not eat quickly. If this doesn't help, then she needs to go see the doctor about getting a prescription. There are two medications that are typically used; Phenergan, which they will start her out with. If that doesn't do it they will prescribe Zofran, which is actually a medication used for patients undergoing chemotherapy. Everything I've referenced is safe. If she's not holding anything down, this can become serious, as the placenta needs the fluids and nutrients to supply the baby. Your wife needs to stay in contact with her doctor and keep him/her updated.

Congratulations to you and your wife! You must be so excited. She's fortunate to have a husband who cares so much about her.

Many woman experience "morning" sickness during the first trimester of pregnancy. It's not at all unusual. Have her eat a few saltine crackers before she gets out of bed. That may help some. But she may just have to ride it out, as most of us do. It should subside after a few weeks. And she'll eventually get her appetite back. If she hasn't already seen an obstetrician she should make an appointment to begin her prenatal care. You should go with her. I know my son was thrilled to go to the OB appointments with his wife. It's one way that dads can be a part of the whole process.

God bless!

Morning sickness is common most often during the first trimester of pregnancy. A bit of ginger ale or soda crackers go a long way toward relieving this. Her appetite will return soon enough; remember, her body and hormones are adapting to a new state. As to where the pains is located is unclear- can't help there.

It is normal unless it is excessive. Then she has hyperemesis. Tell her to eat small frequent meals to regulate blood sugar. There are also OTC antiemetics that are safe during pregnancy have her call her dr and ask what is safe until she makes it into the office.

. There are these things called preggie pops wich help pregant women with nausea. They are just like regular pops but have something in them to subside the queasiness. They sell them on amazon, and they have a website. http://www.threelollies.com/
