How about everything. But especially that they don't cover your butt, and you can wear your favorite matching underwear, and you don't have to take it off to pee. And the fact that they are way more sheer and slippery, and so sexy to look at, and you can have foreplay and sex in them without restriction.

Well, being as I have a Y chromosome, I don't have any first hand experience. What I DO have (had now, sigh) is a girlfriend who wore stockings and garters every day. One day, when I asked why, she informed me that they made her feel sexy and feminine all of the time, but the real reason was comfort, the shine which is unique to sheer stockings and the unique swish noise they made when she walked. They were more comfortable and only real nylons are both smooth and shiny. Real stockings do not stretch and thus are absolutely smooth. She told me that pantyhose never fit her correctly and always bunched up in uncomfortable places at exactly the wrong times during the day. She said that if she wantd to wear tights, she would joined a ballet company. And then there was the getting half undressed to use the bathroom facilities. Wearing her underwear outside the garters made it all SO easy. Thigh highs have elastic in the band which left marks on her legs. Any stockings that stretch will never realy be smooth and shiny. A garter belt suitable for all day wear will be wide, 4 inches or more and have 6 wide straps. It is a utility garmet, not a sexy toy like you see at Fredericks of Hollywood or Victorias Secret. Real stockings need support at the sides as well as the front and back hence the 6 straps. Wide straps 3/4 or 1 inch, are for the reason someone else pointed out, the marks on the back side. My ladyfriend purchased her stockings imported from overseas, which is where they are made these days. There are no longer any of the knitting looms in the US. As a guy, I felt a very special thrill when out to dinner and I put my hand on her thigh and felt the garter, and my ladyfriend was thrilled that _I_ was thrilled.
Sex was not a part of my ladyfriend wearing stockings though she said they made her feel sexy and I thought the whole idea sexy, but we did work them in to our playtime when we started having sleepovers...

I like the fact that your butt and crotch are open, and you wear your own underwear on the outside so you can slide them down to pee or play without taking everything else off. and I will take the little rut from the garters any day compared to the deep creases in my skin left by thigh highs and ankle highs.
I also like the fact that they come in ultra sheer as well as regular sheer, are far more sexier than anything else, and have an infinite color selection if you go online. I have them in over 15 colors.

I can tell you what I don't like...those danged little ruts the garters put in the backs of your legs ! OUCH

I dont know and I dont honestly think any man does know. But we do love em. It's a mystery. Of course it depends on the wearer as well.
