No. I have different days off than my husband and most of my friends and I sometimes go to the theater alone. I sit at home and watch movies by myself quite a bit.

Some of us don't have a choice.
If you have no one, you have no one. So what?
You're supposed to stop living?

Going to see a movie in a theater alone or watching it at home alone is neither weird nor pathetic, contrary to popular belief.

And I'd like to kick the a$$ of the person who started the stigma that going to a movie theatre by themselves is "wrong".

I would never watch a movie a lone at a theater, but I watch movies at home by myself all the time. Usually, is because my wife doesn't like the movie.

No. It's the same as going to a restaurant alone, or living alone. Why anyone would think that doing anything alone is weird or pathetic, is just weird and pathetic.

A movie where? at the cinemas or on tv, or hired? I do kinda think it, yeah - NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE - just, if someone hires out a movie to watch alone kinda sad. And if someone goes to the movies alone thats not eaps good either. If it's just on tv i think it's ok. But i mean, good on them if thats what they want to do, just for me, the fun of watching a movie is laughing/screaming/crying/enjoying the movie together, being able to talk about it afterwards, that kind of thing.
Hope i didn't offend you if you do it.

I wouldn't go to the theatre alone, but I've watched movies at home alone. I mean, it's not like you really need a second person to watch a movie, right?

i hope not because i rent from blockbuster alone, and have even ventured to the theater alone. Since I broke up with my ex-girlfriend I do a lot of things alone, but I am confident enough to realize that i have the right to entertain myself alone or in a group so no it is not weird or pathetic.

Watching movie alone is not weird or pathetic. Where did you get that idea?

Not at all. I like to do a lot of stuff by myself. There are movies I like that no one else in the family would like, etc. But as far as going out to a theater goes.........
Yeah, that'd be a bit unusual. I've done it several times though. It's not very fun, that's for sure.

Not at all! Watching a movie by yourself sometimes can be a good thing, because there's no interruptions to deal with! Just a pause button on the remote if you need to get up for any reason! LOL
