Moto Guzzi made the Convert which was automatic back in the 70s and 80s. Honda made the CB750A and a smaller 400 version, during the same era, which were automatic. And more recently, Ridley makes an automatic but they are extremely pricey for a 750cc bike.

I'm answering for what we have in the US market. Elsewhere it's probably very different.

If you want a true motorcycle, there's Baron CF Moto, the Riddley Speedster, and one of the very high end Yamahas. I don't recommend the last one for a newbie at all.

If you're willing to accept a scooter design but want a large engine, there's the Honda Helix and Reflex, Yamaha Morphous, and several other maxi-scooters with 250 cc or larger engines.

there was a Honda 750 auto and a Moto Guzzi 1000 Convert. I think Honda also did a 450 or 500 auto.

KTM, and Husqvarna made some auto MX stuff, back in the 80's, and there's a company, in America, which produces an auto clutch modification, for some big bore MX stuff ( KX 500, etc). It won't make it a true auto, though. It just gives you an auto clutch.
