Does this module chip really add 22 or more horsepower? Can someone please explain how it works.

If it's the one on ebay that sells for under $40...it's a scam and does not work- I tried one in my truck with no results. If you go to any legitimate performance website, you'll probably find one for between $100-$200- THESE AND ONLY THESE will work. They usually add 10-20 hp, depending on what other aftermarket products you already have installed.

This thing may be a real chip. But if it's one of those "chips" they sell on eBay for $20, it's probably a scam. Those "chips" are not real chips at all but 25 cent resistors that splice into the air or coolant temperature sensor line. They're supposed to fool the ECU into thinking you're getting cooler air. But they are usually not tested or calibrated for any specific application, so they may work in some cases but can also reduce horsepower, lower your gas mileage, or even damage your engine.

I don't know about the horsepower claim, but these chips can improve performance.

There is a trade-off of lower MPG and sometimes you will lose power in the low or high RPM range due to the change in timing.

These basically do to your electronic ignition what we used to due with a manual tuned distributor system on advancing or retarding the timing and adjusting the fuel mix....

Do your research first on exactly what it will change and keep in mind there are probably a few sources of these performance chips, so look around.

Good Luck!!

Don't bother. Get the molecule aligning magnets that you put on your fuel lines. You can find them on TV between Popeil Pocket fisherman and the Bass-a-Matic.
