The Spiritual "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres" The Philosophical Love is finding the person you always knew existed the person who you wanted to be. Love is the connection of two souls. Love is when you can't eat or sleep and there is nothing you wouldn't do for you're partner. Love conquers all. I like both the Bible's definition of true love and my own definition of it as well. I think it's the both of them put together. Peace be with you.

I wouldn't say that it always gives pain, although sacrifice is a big part of true love and sacrifice is painful. But in the end, true love is the key to happiness as well.

Because we tend to take pleasure for granted and create a hype of pain.
Sun is essential for life at earth but on a sunny day we curse the sun for dissipating so much heat.
True Love is essential for life.

This isn't true. I am truely in love with my husband and it is always a pleasure.
I think those who tend to mix love and obsession end up feeling more pain over the relationship than those truely in love.

What? You're doing it wrong. If you love someone and it's causing you pain you're depending too much on them for your happiness. Shouldn't it be simply about enjoying the person you're with and not expecting things unrealistically? Quit being so bitter and shortsighted.

True love is desire. The desire to be with someone and share you life and being with them. Any desire you have comes with the danger that it will not work out. You may be dumped or deserted. It is just the danger that comes with the territoy. "It is better to have loved and lost: than never to have loved at all".
