i want to take my kids away before they go back to school. but can only go on a certain day tryed lastminute.com but they,re all too expensive anyone got any tips ?

best to go ta a travel angents i paid £120 for a week in greece last year 2 days b4 we left then found out that if id waited till the morning it left i would hav got it for £80 but still got a bargin it was through firstchoice

Since I don't know where you live, it's hard to be specific.
What I'd do is pick the nearest hotel to where you live and check into a Day's Inn or other hotel that has a pool.
You can do things like go to the beach, if there is one; go to the zoo; play miniature golf; go to your local county fair;go fishingrent a canoe or rowboat in a nearby pack; and other things which are cheap.
Let the kids pick where to eat and what they want.
Then at night go back to the hotel and let them hang out at the pool and watch TV. Have them bring along their gameboys, ipods, etc. and use them whenever they want.
Good vacations don't have to be expensive. Have fun!

Just take them to the beach! That was always one of my kids' favorites. Even if it's just for the day or a weekend.
