If you read newspapers of other countries or go to forums whose members are from another country, you see them complaining about their country as well. Hey, if I don't like where I am, I move. They should do the same, no matter what country they reside in.

I am an American but I live in China. I do not tear down American culture but I am confronted daily by my Chinese friends with questions about where the US is headed. They can't understand why we feel it so important to be the world cops. When you mention culture, China has 6,000 years of it compared to a scant 400 years in the US and so there is a lot to be said about the inscrutable Chinese, who has held off offensive remarks, (gave a few million to help victims of Katrina) but has progressed in 30 years to change into a dynamic society with a booming economy(90% of your toys are made here). From here we see an economy in a lose-lose situation, with another Vietnam-in progress in Iraq, we see disputes about the old site of the WTC, we see race problems, we see a big fuss over illegals, we can see the drug problem, we can see outsourcing (Thank You), we can see sexual issues, political scandals,a decline in the educational levels at schools, homeless, we see Honolulu being owned by Japanese and about 80% of Los Angeles owned by them too. We see the media controlled by the Jewish. We see bureaucracy at work by creating Homeland Security when the FBI should have been doing its job....now those are things we see everyday, and as an American....I agree.

It is a by product of the popularity culture, where your worth is defined by the number of people who want to be your friend not whether you are right or wrong.
Comfort leads to complacency and feelings of guilt which are in turn expressed in a selfish fashion that our whole country should suffer for their feelings of guilt. This kind of mentality can only lead to self destruction. The worst thing is is that it is an underlying supposition in higher education and increasingly lower education.

These people do not see our country as great. They see our country as the cause of all the worlds problems. I do not get that. I think if other countries were as great as we are their citizens would want to stay there and not come here.America love it or leave it!

I think you mean "many Liberals"...When the democrats were (giggle) in power, David Bonyer, Gephardt, etc...they lined their pockets with "OIL" and "BLOOD" money, from policies written to "protect" terrorists countries, as did the French, Germans, Spain, etc...thats why KERRY keeps "sucking" up to them so their relations will return to "normal" IF he is elected.

That is why every democrat (including their cohorts in the media) are trying their damnedest to ruin Bush, the military, and ultimately the USA, because BUSH has ruined "their" cashcow, and THEY ARE PISSED !!!

to pretend that they're better, smarter than most americans are perceived. i say, if you tear down the US, go move to Iraq and be with your muslim friends, go move to france and have a 50% income tax.

oh, they want to disassociate themselves from the best country in the world for silly snobbish reasons

dont confuse country with culture. america is only 200 yrs old. that's nothing in the greater scheme of things. anyway, we dont tear america down. the alleged freedom we have to speak our minds allows us to try and make a better place of it. not sure we're succeeding though.....

Because we wish we had more culture?

I just hope that the result of democracy is not poor culture. Oh that's right- there are more cultured democracies in existence.

What happened here?
