I hate to tell you this... but Tech is going to beat Notre Dame !!! Weis has no idea what he's in for playing an ACC underdog on the road the very first game of the year at night under the prime time lights !!! Tech plays great defense at home against a top ranked opponent, not to mention the Irish have no answer for Calvin Johnson what so ever. It's just my option, but I'm usually right about such games.

But other than ND vs. GA Tech, other exciting games should be California vs. Tennessee, Auburn vs. Washington State, and Hawaii vs. Alabama. These have upset written all over them too...

You're right. Charlie Weiss, the National Coach of the Year last year, "has no idea what he's in for". And I'm sure you, Dun Dun, the man on the Clapham omnibus, have a better understanding of what he's up against. Regardless, while Notre Dame's defense is porous, their offense will outrun Tech's.

As far as the biggest game of opening weekend, Tech-ND is big, but I'm going to have to go with Cal-Tennessee. The Golden Bears have been experiencing a large measure of success in the last few years, whereas Tennessee, a program of historic renown, is coming off their worst season in recent memory. Suffice it to say, I believe that this game will go a long way in determining the tone of each team's season.

Can any one say Ga tech and Miami last year , they were all set for the ACC championship game until they ran up against the ramblin wreck from ga tech. i believe Miami was a 21 point fave in that game or better yet the reigning Sec champs going to Atlanta to take care of some bizz and got sent back to Aubrun, ala with that big Kitty tail of there's between there legs. never underestimate the power of a team when their backs against a wall with nothing to loose and everything to gain. as for me i hate Miami. Florida state is not to high on my list but i hope Bowden's Boys make the canes wish they would have stayed in bed

Don't FSU and Miami play in week one? Larry Coker just suspended four kids for the game. That has to be the premier season opener in the country. Wide right Part IV, anybody?
