Is this because of concern about terrorism, or because it's just so much hassle to deal with since then?

Yes I do. I still fly a lot for work but for vacations I don't fly as much.
They have made it such a hassle to fly now that it is almost not worth it. Then you add in the higher cost and the lower service and it's no wonder the airlines are in trouble!
I am also a private pilot and they are making more and more restrictions and requirements that even flying yourself is a pain.

actually my flying increased-- i moved to the Mid-East and the
loving family is in SA- so you can understand why i travel so much ! I am not afraid of stuff that happened, i just pray for His protection -always
