I really like the answer from Needtoknow!

It is dangerous to generalize (a generalization in itself - but perhaps the exception that proves the rule). All humans do not think as you suggest. I am constantly questioning and doubting my own opinions and beliefs. If I think, read, hear, or otherwise come across any statement I automatically ask myself, Is that true?

Of course I only have my previous experience and working principles to judge anything new against so I would say that I am wrong on an ongoing basis but, hopefully, becoming less so.

What do I do with all the unanswered questions in my life? I put them in what is probably the largest part of my brain - a section marked PENDING.

Now my heart is a different matter, it knows things my brain struggles to comprehend.

That is human nature. Set a Kleenex box on a table at an angle. Have someone fill each chair. Have each person describe what they see. If it's a table of 6 people, you will hear 6 different descriptions of what they see. All of them are correct in what they see, but if you think they all are going to see it from the same angle, you are mistaken. So in a sense, all of them are correct in what they see, though each see something different. It's a great gift in life to have an open mind and realize that people are just people with each holding their own truth in their heart. Are they right? Maybe Are they wrong? Maybe ---All you have to do is be true to your own heart and let them do the same.

I think it is not true that everyone thinks they are correct. If that is the case people does not ask for second openion, does not discuss and just do what they think is right. In dispute there is only chance of half to be correct. But at times we know it is wrong and only don't want to agree that is ego. But at times it happens we are right and the other doesn't want to accept the truth.

Since we do hear and change our openion with reaoning by others. it is not true always but yes true some times.

Every thing we think is something that we have thought out through our reasoning abilities. The rest is whether our ego will allow us to admit that we might not have all the information and that we might not have reasoned correctly. Many people's egos will not allow them to think that they might have errored where others of us have the wisdom to assume that maybe we don't know everything and based on that we might not have thought the whole problem though correctly.

The answer may be pretty convoluted: What people think in regards to themselves is correct because only an individual can think for him or herself. When they start applying those same principles to others, that's when they become incorrect. Individuality is only predictive from within

Because we are only humans with God given brains to think and it's a jungle out there . And if you cannot prove your point or worth, then you deserve to be kicked out of the human geneolegy and make a monkey out of your self!

Smart people are unafraid of saying "I don't know," or "let's find out" and don't proport that they know everything. I always tell my friends and family who always think they're correct in EVERYTHING, "You know, 'I don't know' is an optional answer!" One of my favorite quotes comes from the lyrics by the singer Erykah Badu, "The man that knows something knows that he knows nothing at all."

See, I'm answering your questions sort of with an "I don't know" now! But I think it is that evil, narrow ego that keeps people pridefully and wrongfully thinking they are always right.

Not true, I believe myself to be correct on many issues but if someone can prove to me I am wrong then i don't mind being corrected. I only refuse to believe i am wrong if someone is trying to force their opinions on me and not fact.

We think that way because we are humans and we really don't know what the thinking is of those that aren't human.
