Only in a few cases when Chevy and Ford both bought their transmissions from the same place. If both of them are Borg-Warner T5 transmissions, for example, you might be able to swap it into a Ford if you use the Ford bellhousing and clutch.

Not at all. They have completly different bolt paterns so it will not match up to the engine.
