Go up to someone at school and introduce yourself and try to hold a conversation. If it helps a thirteen year old, it'll help a sixteen year old.

The best way to make friends is go out, chill with your mates, talk to their other friends. Beeing nice and good also helps. If you're a computer kinda guy, joining a community, like forums, or places like Myspace.com and Friendster.com.
Talking is another way to get friends. Speak up, but not to much, you will annoy people.

Go to church and join the youth group. Go to school and join the clubs. Go to the local community youth group and get involved in their after school activities. Go to school every day and try to make a difference in your life and in someone else's life every day. If you find yourself in a negative situation, correct or leave. If you have hobbies that can be shared with others, then find others who enjoy the same, and create some sort of meetings with them. Be upbeat. If you're shy, then give a pleasant look to others, make appropriate conversation, and let yourself be included in the activities. Good luck!

time.16 years of age is the best time to read & study various
topics to enable you to learn manythings of the world.Please read,read & read.The more you read the more you learn.

richa, it is very difficult to get a decent friend, because the ones who are not decent would want to befriend you and the ones who are decent would not be believed by you to be decent. i too am trying to get a female friend (i am a male), but could not get any. i want to broaden my horizon because i don't have a female friend. would you care to be my friend please ?
