Most men wear navy jeans and that is where most of the fluff comes from. Men with hairy bodies get more fluff than men without. If you wear red boxers and red short and a red t.shirt (or anything that is not blue for that matter), then the colour of your fluff will change accordingly. Give it a go for a day or 2 and see if it works.

That just is a personal consideration or situation.
The belly fluff you mention follows general hair coloration. So brown men will have brown belly hair too! Sincerely it’s the first time I hear such recognition.

Colour of the clothes they wear presumably.

Blue Jeans, Shirt, underwear.

I'm sure you get the picture.

If that is not the right answer, could it be that this is the reason why they say:- Pink for a girl, Blue for a boy???

It is if they wear blue shirts! The fluff can be white or black if that colour of shirts were worn.

Actually, there's a real answer to this. Sadly, it's not very interesting.

Belly button lint is blue because the most common color people wear is blue. Blue is just the most common color of lint that comes off shirts.
