Pick up the phone. Drop them a note. Let the kids call them.

Make up you're minds as adults that juat because your relationship with their son/daughter is over your relationship with them does not have to be. People and relationships are much more important than circumstances. It's only wierd if you let it be wierd.

My ex mom-in-law is one of my closest and dearest friends. I love her dearly. Her son and I have been divorced for 14yrs.

What's important is the relationship between your children and the granparents, they should be free to contact each other whatever the relationship between you and them is. However if they don't want to make the effort don't impose the children on them because they will then not be positive figures in your children's lives.

Just talk to them as usual. Mine genuinely care about me and I talk to them often (not AS often) and everything is fine. Eventually the negativity is gone from you and your ex and you may even be able to be friends.

I simply don't. They're as rotten as my ex husband. Good thing my child never liked them to start with.

Using email, phone or face to face talking... If they are still cool with you, you can be cool to them. Keep the bridges of comunitcation open.

Give them your phone number. If they really care about their grandchildren and want to see them, they will call you.
