I am just trying to understand why? Gay people wear T-shrits, That say: I'm gay and I'm prided.

The people of California are some of the most liberal in America. They are also the most inclusive state. Rather than bashing gays, they include them in the American dream, making the California gays more wealthy than those of any other state.

For one thing, there's about 35 million people in California so there's going to be a lot of gay people anyway. For another, there are 3 big cities that are all gay friendly--San Francisco which is sort of a gay capital, and Los Angeles and San Diego, too. As gay people learn that they are not alone, they come out, meaning they acknowledge their homosexuality to themselves and accept it, they decide they have no reason to deny being who they are, but in order to live free they often (not always) need to move away from small towns, rural areas, conservative areas that harrass or persecute gays, or just don't have any opportunity for gays to meet. So they move to big cities, and the weather and cultural opportunities in California are very appealing.

Can't say why they're prided, but California is not only a nice place, it's very friendly in its laws and attitudes toward gay people, so a lot of gay people move there or feel freer to be honest about who they are. Much more so than, say, Mississippi.

Why not? Gay guys are the best dancers to go out with:) I like gay guys, they rawk :) And there are so many gay guys there because there is an army base there and they want some hot army action lol

Well if they lived in the bible belt they'd get burnt at the stake. Perhaps there are just as many gay people elsewhere in America, but they just don't wave quite as many flags as the californians do.
