With McAfee, it reported Malware.j, which I tried to clean & quarantine, but the only way to get rid of that was by running Spyware Detector by Max Plimus. However, now that I want to run that program again, I click the icon and Spyware Detector has changed into something from Wordpad. It also doesn't appear on my programs list. Where did it go? The "Antispynet Soldier" ad keeps popping up around every 10 minutes, and also a box that looks "authentic" about Microsoft saying my computer is running slowly. If you can help, please write in the most easy-to-understand way, a real newbie here. Running a Dell Windows SP. Many thanks!

Hi, Antispyware soldier is an kind of infamous disgusting virus, you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar, which can disable the virus, becasue the virus can only run on IE.

firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and spywareware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

I had this one too. I ran my virus program and my ad blocker to no avail. The only thing that worked was a System Restore. And even that took three tries. I had to keep going back a day at a time until it took but it finally worked. Good luck!
