Did your computer come with a system restore disk? If it did...use it...but be careful. There are two types of system restore. One completely erases your hard drive and reinstalls your original software. The other restores your computer to an earlier date. If you use the first type of restore...make sure you save any vital files to disk and run them through an antivirus program before reinstalling them onto your system.

AIM is AOL`s messenger service and depending on where you downloaded it from...it could have a virus attached. Always download from the original software manufacturer when possible.

Outside of a system restore I highly recommend System Mechanic 6 or the lastest version. It allows you to do a great many things towards fixing your system, and comes with its own antivirus and antispyware/adware programs.

Personally I hate AOL. There are other programs out there that allow you do everything AOL does for alot less money using alot less drive space.

If all fails...give me your PC before you throw it away, I`ll pay the postage. :)

AIM I assume is AOL Instant Messenger. You may have a corrupt installer. You should try and download the program again. You should also see if something else is trying to install itself onto your system. I'm supplying links to a couple of anti adware programs just in case. Hope it helps, Good luck!

Go to your start menu...hit search...search all files and floders...for AIM...then delete them all. if you WANT the program then try re-installing or re-downloading it...all of the components are not there that is why you get the message.

don't throw it up.. give it to me :)

Okay, seriously, you just have to uncheck or uninstall that process and it will go away.

To do this. boot it up with safe mood. and then type msconfig
and check for any exe file said setup or install and then uncheck it and reboot.
