certainly they have a heart....but they also have a job and a duty to their own country. Actually they are not aiming at civilians and in most cases let the civilians know so they would leave ahead of time. They pre-plan their targets, are good shots, and only hit the target (once in a great while one goes astray). But when civilians are involved it's because terrorists have used them as shields on purpose. One of the purposes is not to be caught, and the other purpose is to give the USA bad press and make other people and other countries dislike the USA. (what a trick that is). If we didn't take action at a specific time, we've lost our chance at knocking out some terrorists. It's better we take them out than they have our heads on a platter, terrorize us or abuse us, or dragging us live or dead thru their streets while they celebrate.
Terrorists try to take advantage of American morals in that in most cases we here respect women and children, but they send their women and children walking toward our men while those women and children have bombs strapped to them to kill our military. Why take the chance with regard to innocense?

Amir, I would think that it is more heartless to face a crowd of people, look into their eyes and detonate a backpack bomb than to push a button an release a bomb from an airplane. IDF soldiers and mujaheed alike both perform their duty without thought. Only many years later, long after a war is over, do the soldiers finally come to terms with the lives that were lost.
According to Nasrallah's August 3rd speech, "As I said, we are not a regular army and we do not use the way of the regular army. We rather use the way of the guerillas. Therefore, it would be useful for us to allow them advance into the entrances of the villages because this will give us a chance of a direct engagement in order to inflict human and materialistic losses upon them. This is our aim on the ground. Our aim is to inflict the largest possible number of human and materialistic losses upon the enemy....It is true that we have a strong and steady volition, yet at the same time, we are full of sympathy, affection and love. We are sympathetic towards our people, our women and our children. "
The STATED goal of Sayad Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah is to inflict the largest possible number of human losses upon the enemy. Is that heartless or what?
This particular period of history has the ability for the world to destroy itself. No one wins in a war. Property can be restored, but even a lifetime is not long enough to resolve grief over a lost loved one.
Since Muslims, Jews and Christians believe in the messiah, maybe praying for the messiah to come and bring lasting peace before the world destroys itself would be a win-win-win solution

I think they have better hearts then someone who throws up a rocket with no idea where it will land. At least the people who are dropping the bombs are trying to hit assigned targets. Did the a**holes who flew the planes into the Pentagon and World Trade Centers have hearts at all?

No more so than when Hezbollah kidnaps soldiers, who are after all, somebody's children and no more than when Hezbollah lobs missiles into Northern Israel.
It is Hezbollah that declared war here, civilians get hurt and killed in war. Moreover, Lebanese civilians are getting killed because they allowed Hezbollah to act as it did--they are reaping what they sowed.
If you want to see hearts of stone--look to Syria and Iran, who are using Lebanon, Hezbollah, the Palestinians to do their dirty work, so that they take on little risk and don't dirty their hands....they are shaking the hands of their fellow Arabs with their left hands....

They joined the military and thus willingly accepted the responsibilities of such a position. I can't say they have a heart of stone, (because some of them may regret their action) but realize that they're just following orders.
It's the commander (read: Government) that has the heart of stone.

They are just ignorant and stupid people. That's the only way to explain it. They are brainwashed, and very often they even don't really know what they are doing. They haven't even heard of the country that they are bombing. They don't know where it is or what it's like; and they don't even want to know. They don't even know what the war is, until they come experience it. Even then they very often don't know because they see only targets from their plane, like in a computer game. What can I see, toooooo ignorant.

I am sure that the men and women who fly the aeroplanes will be haunted by the memory of what they had to do. The point is that they chose to serve their country, and that means taking orders. They may not believe that their commanders are right, they may not understand the reasons why they are ordered to do something. But they have taken an oath to obey, and learned to trust their commanders.
