U must try some of these -
1. chhole bhature (north indian spicy dish)
2. Masala Dosa (south indian dish)
3. Paneer Butter Masala with some Nan.
4. Chana masala with chapatis.
5. Vada paav is a must have in Mumbai.
6. Try out some paanipuris, gupchup, puchkas (they all are the same with different names).

Go for Lal Mans in Rajasthan,Pork Sorpatel in Goa,Tandoori Chicken in Delhi,Chawlas chicken in Chandigarh.
Pindi Chane and Shahi Gatte are also worth trying

In vegetarian dishes, you can safely order Chana(or Chole) with Bhature or Kulcha, depending on what they have in that particular restaurant. Bhature are deep fried and kulcha is baked.
Next is Kadhi and rice with ghee(oil) with chillipowder in it. You pour this on the rice and kadhi and then eat. Its yummy!
In non-veg, you should eat Rogan josh (mutton) and butter chicken with garlic Naan(a type of bread). You will also like Daal Makhani with plain rice or naan. Try and give me your feedback. Happy eating!

Veg.Kolhapuri - Paratha ( Butter ) -Veg. Birayani- Masala Papad Tell them to put Green chili- if you want to start with soup Hot &Sour( Put lots of Chilly souse ). Eat Mango pickle ( Given mostly free)

go for massala dosa... it's just hmmmmmmmm... it is served with Samber (kind a soup)... I'm taking Samber whenever i feel that I'm getting cold... it is HOT and tasty! actually any dish can be prepared spicy, you just have to ask for it.

paneer tikka is just unforgettable... and the best fast food in the world... samosa and veg or mushroom(my specialty) 'pakoda...

Veg/Chi Kolhapuri (Very Spicy) shud have it wid Naan/Roti.
Pav Bhaji (Mixed/Crushed Vegetables) - Shud have it with Buttered Pav (Bread)
Vada Pav - This is one is very FAMOUS & CHEAP in MUMBAI (Dont forget to try this out)
My favorite starter- Idli Fry (Fried Idlis)
