Assuming English is your native language I would say German.

However, if you have learnt some English at school or something like that and you mainly speak another language then it would be harder for you to learn it.

A lot of people learn French from an early age so I would suggest that as a second but I personally found Spanish very hard and chose German for GCSE instead.

From what I've heard, English is actually one of the hardest languages to learn because of all the irregular verbs.

That aside, I'd say that Latin or Spanish would be the next easiest.

And to the guy up there that said that Gaulic (or whatever) is the root of French...learn your language histories, please. French is buried very deeply in Latin. Thank you, come again.

I would suggest Spanish. Most people I know of that are good at languages (not me) tell me that it is one of the easier ones to learn.
