Ask him out if you want but don't pay attension to what others says. you should never take any decision because you worry what others will says. Decisions are to be made thinking of lives not words of others.

Since u r friend I think u must tell him how u feel and it the best think to go out with a friend. Do not bother abt what others think as long as u r happy.

What's more important being made fun of by people who are supposed to be your friends or being with the guy you like??? Who knows if they will make fun of you anyway? Maybe they will be happy for you.

don't worry if they make fun of you and your bestfriend....if they are really your friends, this eventuality of going to a next level in friendship ( as lovers) ,they will surely give you both the understanding....

I would say can you trust him. If you can tell him you want to keep it quiet and then see him on the sly. Its more fun that way as well.
