Is there any point in keeping a pda that has a ripped screen?

It was fine - I took an international flight and when I arrived the screen was damaged. It doesn't make sense as it was in it's protective case in my hand luggage. What could have caused it, cause I know I didn't drop it. Air preassure? x-rays? Is there any chance I can repair it? If not is there any point in flogging it on ebay for it's parts? Thanks for answering.

i have not known of it getting damaged by any of these. you may want to see if its just the protective layer of the tft which was cracked or it was damaged from below the layer. if its just the protective layer then you can get it replaced.
