No, Gaara pretty much remains a hard-*** throughout the manga; he just joins Naruto's side later on.

Yeah... I'd say his personality does a 180... but I love him after that, his earlier psychosis and his later comrader-ship make me love him even more.

after his defeat to naruto i think he has a bit maybe to be more like him or maybe the demon in him is taking it easy because it got it's butt kicked
