That really depends on the airline. For some low cost airlines, it is 14, but check the appropriate websites. Many of the large airlines have a responsible member of staff to check the comfort and security of minors travelling alone.

When my kids were flying the airllines said they had to be 5 to fly alone. Call the airline or visit their web site and inquire.
Geez, I thought you were asking about solo piloting a plane. Think there was a 12 year old kid who was licensed to pilot.

I flew at 10 years old from Washington to California and 5-16 have to be nonstop only!

I would say its 16, as you can only do your flight test at this age, and in theory no matter what age you are your instrucor should be waiting and watching, untill you fully qualify as a PPL.
