Firstly, science will have nothing to do with it. Science is based on the questioning of religion.
The various personalities will not play any role on attraction or repelling from religion. It is thought that many science intellectuals are less likely to adopt the teachings of religion. But on the same token, more historical iintellectuals are partaking of the religious teachings. There is no logical tie either way.

I don't know if it's correct to categorize people attracted to religion by personalities or genetics. Some people are are attracted to religion by faith and/or the need to believe in something other than the tangible. People are often repelled by religion because it goes against their beliefs, whatever they are?

Hi,
I guess you might say the HUMAN personality in general...
It is a human need..., but also the intelligence... of the recognition that there is a very superior and INTELLIGENT Force
above the human knowledge... and so, it was admitted, by all kinds of ways and events, that Gods exist...and with time GODS became Go as a single ALL mighty... Nothing to do with genetics... Simply little human intelligence...

Those who believe in god and feel uplifted by his spirit. Ppl who r repelled by it or those who may be a liitle cynical and skeptical when hearing things that seem a little out of the ordinary. I dont think it is caused by genetics but by the type the child is placed in.

"Because of the sheer number of all the diversity of human beings on earth are attracted to religion, I sincerely believe G-d is written into our genetic inheritance. It's definitely in our code.
If G-d didn't exist we would surely invent him.
Some people that believe this way are called Christian Existentialists. I believe you know the answers as well as I or anyone else does. We are remarkedly similar.... all people are."

Of course not. There is no one type who is attracted or repelled by religion. I think factors contribute to being repelled or attracted to religion.

From what I have seen, those who are religious tend to need boundaries, need what their particular religion gives them, be it inner peace, assurance, answers.
I personally think that religion tens to control people. Has been used throughout history to dictate to and control people. It's healthier to think for yourself.
When you look at the Vatican and it's vast fortune, and you see the hunger in Catholic third world countires. Look at the Aids epidemic in Africa, and how those Bishops and Cardinals condemn gthe use of Condoms, it is criminal.
When you think about the amount of abuse against children by Catholic priests, it is enough to put you off relgion for life.

I despise religion - I love the whole spiritual aspect of life that there is a Higher person out there looking over Us (aka GOD).
Religion is a building. God Lives in your heart.

People that have the need to belong are attracted to religions and the deeper the need for belonging the more whacky they get.
like Jamestown, Waco Texas, and that Canadian UFO religion with the nut case running it,
