That way, George W. Bush could be the corrupt president of the red-neck red states. The rest of us in the blue states could have a different president, and be more like Canada.

ok lets think about what you just said if the US had let the Confederacy secede from the union the US would have ended up being a 3rd world country. the reason the war started is because of the resources the south had and with out the raw goods of the south the industrial north would have to pay for what they were getting for little or no money. also consider that most of the military of the Indian wars, Spanish-American, WWI, WWII, etc troops come and came from what was the confederate states so the US would have no military power today if that happen.
as far as like Canada. Canada might have just annexed the US if that had happened.also the US would have been land locked between the Indians, the Confederates and the ocean so there wouldn't been a push west.
Slick from South Carolina oh remember SC never surrendered lol

enable's settle for it, the USA of a did not secede from the British Empire. the USA of a did not exist on the time. The settlers gained the war of Independence. i'm a Brit, yet could the Southern states have given up slavery had they not lost the Civil war? extra controversially, have the southern states given up 'slavery' (blacks being paid below whites for doing the same interest) and racial discrimination? On a bypass to to Baton Rouge, the State capital of Louisiana, i spotted that the final public of human beings putting around the streets and sitting on park benches because of fact they have been needless to say unemployed, have been black.

The primary reason they didn't was because the southern states were producing most of the food at the time. Northern farms were in the grip of the Little Ice Age, which lasted until 1885.

The south generally votes Republican. As for Canada? Most Americans would like to see their flag lowered anywhere it flies next to the stars and stripes.

If they did, than one part of America would have kept slavery legal (which they wanted to do) and in the present day, they might have become even more dangerous places to be, especially to non-whites and "Americans outside of the confederacy."
There would be more tension if that happened.

If that happens, then it wouldn't be called "UNITED STATES" of America. Northern states/blue states would be liberals, pro abortion, pro gay marriage, cloning. While South would be conservatives. Pro slavery.

Absolutely!
It would have been better to have two separate nations (red and blue) as we can clearly see today.
