Do you hate your father?

Question

my father has a mistress, they have a son.... and somehow my studies and my emotional health is affected.

i was depressed, i lost weight, practically i was a loner.

i try my best not to cry inside the classroom everytime i think of what they have done to me. and sometimes i feel like i am nothing.

i'm studying hard, i get good grades, but my father does not even look at it. he never learned how to appreciate.

i think i'm depressed most of the time. my avatar is the opposite of what i really feel inside.

When I was preteen going on to teenager, I was molested by my older brother, my step mom treated me badly, my dad did not seem to care. I felt alone. I lived with my dad all the way in Canada while my mom lived in South America. So I felt truly alone. You cannot imagine the emotional abuse I went thru but never the less I have healed. It took a long time. I was attention seeking, depressed, sexually promiscuous, needy. I hated my dad, my whole family. I hated my mom cause she sent me to live with my dad and his wife. I hated my dad cause he was not at home, he did not see that I was hurting, he was suppose to protect me from harm. I hated myself. I felt as though I had caused them to do bad things to me. It took a long time to heal. I can feel for u.

I know that you don’t feel loved by your dad but he does love you I am sure. Has he been there for you since birth, love is not something you turn on and off. But if your mom is around you should let her know how you feel cause she probably feels bad too. She is probably wondering what she did wrong as well. Like I said before try talking to some one, it helps.

Honestly, if your father doesn't appreciate you, then you should ignore him, though not hatefully. You shouldn't think on the things he's done with his mistress. Also, think of how sad the child must be to be born to unwed parents.

Cheer up. Life can be bright. And don't feel scorched.

Well I don't like my father much either. He never pays attention to me like he used to, and now that he has a girlfriend he never pays attention to me. I don't get upset about it because I have my mom and I'd rather be with her any how. I study hard and get good grades too, but my dad never looks at my report card. And if he does he just looks at it for a moment and walks away. But I don't get depressed about it and sad, I just try and make the best of things.

No one can make you feel bad except yourself. Write a letter to your dad and tell him how you feel. Before you give it to him read it out loud or tape yourself reading it so you can see how it sounds.

You may want to call him names to hurt him because he has hurt you with his actions and lack of affection toward you, but I am sure you can tell him how his actions have affected you without resorting to insults.

You cannot make your father become a better dad to you only he can do that.

Give him that letter and give him a chance. If he doesn't take it then you may have to learn to live with it.

Life will not always be this bad. Keep your chin up and keep getting good grades.

I can not stand my biological father in fact i can't wait till he dies so i can get the settlement!! so i know how you feel exactly i have a really good reason why i hate hI'm to if you need to talk contact im really good at listening!!! not only that but it was easier for me to talk to someone i didn't even know then someone i was close to. find someone elses father to look at as a father a friends dad they will do the job for you it worked for me at least until my mom got remarried THANK GOD and now i have a step dad that i consider my dad and like 4 other guys that are like dads! it will get better! trust! just don't let him ruin your life he's not worth it! life is to short to dwell on his Petty a s s

I don't hate my father, I love him so much. He took care of me when i was a child, he paid my education, he still give me advice and he has just bought me a puppy although I'm 28 and I been married for three years!

How in the hell could I hate him!

my dad went off with a new women and had another daughter and somtimes i feel like he dnt love me no more but as soon as i go over his house and stuff and play with my little sister it all changes and i feel so much better

i am sorry for you but i too has some "father" problems like you
my father works very hard, he gets a lot of money but he gambles with it. each time my father's brother, my uncle who is is a very big hearted man helps us, but till when?
