My first thought and answer is yes,, or was yes,
Then i thought and realized that not all over the world are computers offered and available, to youths for "entertainment" some youths, and adults use the internet for business, prophet, and just learning tools, and communication sources very valuable,
Especially now that our world had given COMPUTERS, AND THE INTERNET.. Permission to practically force mankind to have and use computer,s otherwise they are not aware of or part of the communnication s of the world,
for even simple tasks.

It depends on the youth's base personality. If his base personality tends to be negative, his interests will be negative and he'll most likely head down that road on the internet as well.

If the youth's base personality is positive, his interests will tend toward the positive side, even though he may view a few negative items out of curiosity.

The best advice I can give, is for the adult (parent, teacher, etc.), to know the youth and at least do spot checks to monitor what he is doing while on the internet. The adult may have to learn a thing or two in order to keep tabs on his activity, but it can be quite worthwhile if the adult suspects the child is on the wrong path. Once the child exhibits proper use (including fun stuff like chatting with their peers in a positive way), of the internet, the spot checks can become less frequent.

But once again, knowing the youth is the best way to deciding when to monitor and how much. Even good kids can get sucked in by bad guys due to lack of experience so it's good to keep the computer in a common area where it can be viewed by the adult at any time.

Good luck! :)

Your activity is highly appreciated.

As there are two side of coin, so too in the internet. The good is there, in plentyful, but accompanied by the foul sites, that reek of sin & slander.

The internet is very useful, and is the window to the world of
knowledge, particularly for those in remote areas. A proper
guidence will enhance the youth to foray in the jungles of great
topics. The start should be a calculated one, giving them a
subject of their liking, to research using the internet.

At the same time, care be taken to veer the youth away from sites that profess hatred, discrimination, and other evils. Let them be forewarned of the doom they spell on tender minds.

The very best to you, Sir, for your efforts in imparting education

For me its neither. I'm an exceptionally well student, and I love using the internet and text messaging. It hasn't effected me in a bad way, it actually helps me communicate with my friends more, because I live farther away from them. For other it shows that is a negative thing. For the less intelligent or slackers, having the internet and texting is bad because it focuses on other subjects not relating to school.

It is a wonderful resource. it is a device that gives us the opportunity to explore the world in many ways.

As a parent of 3 children the negative can be conversations that take place using all sorts of options. It can foster a "Group mentally" on any given thought, idea, opinion etc...this promotes a concern of "following" Rather then a thought out opinion, action.

It Can be a "hidden dragon" to parents. It must be supervised.

Does fire burn more than cook?
Does knife kill more than shape?
Potential for good and bad coexist in most things, old or new.
It all depends on the users' ingenuity, skill and orientation.
