The one that sent Rudy Gay and Stromile Swift to Memphis for Shane Battier. I personally think it is good. The rockets don't need future talent, they need something to complement TMac and Yao, plus Stro wasn't doing anything in Houston. In return they get a hard worker, a tight defender with a lot of hustle, a solid three point shooter, and someone who doesn't make issues in the locker room in Shane Battier

I have confidence in the spurs man. They are a class organization that has been consistently good for a long time. Besides getting francisco elson makes up for losing 2 centers.

i think it was a good trade... i agree with you with regards to swift, he is very athletic no doubt, but he cant seem to impress van gundy or his other previous coaches to give him starter minutes... i dont have a clue why he hasnt yet reached his potential after being in the league for 6 years already...

and the aquisition of battier, though not very popular to fans in houston, immediately addressed two of the rockets' glaring weaknesses last year, defense and outside shooting... he is a proven contributor and is already experienced, he will fit in nicely with yao and t-mac and become that 3rd scorer for the team...

if they can just stay healthy, then they will surely challenge anybody...

my only concern is if rafer alston will start for them at the point next year... he had a miserable campaign last season and shot under 40% from the field, pretty pathetic for a starter... at least they got head and lucas, both will surely benefit if alston plays the same as last year...

I dont realy think it was a bad trade because we still got T-mac and Yao Ming and we got a good defender now with shane battier and we got steve novak and john lucasthethird and if we hade rudy gay he migh hade not play a lot of minutes because we already had T-mac and stromile did not do enough in houston so i dont think the trade was dum and i now next season we will make the playoffs becaus T-mac and yao is a 100percent so dont worry about the trade and just be happy.

They were robbed by Jerry West. Rudy Gay is going to be a stud. He would have been a nice addition with T-Mac & Yao. Battier is not much of a scorer, more defensive minded. They need a 3rd option.

I really don't think it makes much of a difference. Houston would've been good last year but T-Mac's health was the problem. Reguardless of who Houston picks up in the summer, they will still suck if T-Mac stay injured. If he's healthy Houston can end up in the top 3 or 4in the West but they could have last year too.

Yep I agree. Good trade. Very good trade. Man, why can't the Spurs make such good trades?
