i am thinking of taking ashort 'run/own your own business course'.. but aprt from that .. not much else.. would love for some light on my situation.

You might try working for a modelling agency as a secretary. It is a quick way to get an idea of what kind of work goes on. If you can't find one, an ad agency might be useful as well.
Do take the business course. There's a lot more to being in business than knowing all about your product.
Check out your local Community College for courses.

Get a job at an existing modeling agency. Any job, even the most menial ones will do, because you are not there to make money, but to check them out. You'll learn a lot just by watching.

nothing like hands on training, get a job in one for a few months, get the hang of it & then start yr own
