For those who have seen both the 1953 movie with Gene Barry & Ann Robinson and the current version with Tom Cruise, Which do you prefer and why?

Absolutly the first one .It was great and cutting edge of the day. I was really excited to see the new one and really hated it It felt so empty and the father was just not a nice guy and at the end they left hime on the doorstep.

The 1953 film ... totally unique . Remakes usually suck but the current version was pretty good .. great special effects but i hate Tom Cruise

I did enjoy the remake, but liked the original too. BUT listen to the original radio broadcast in a dark room some night......that is a real blast.

The original was WAY better.

The one with Tom Cruise sucked. WAY too boring form me. I fell asleep.

The new one, it seemed pretty real to me, Ive watched it ten times or so even though lots of people thought it sucked, I thought it was pretty cool, so much destruction, but the little girl on there screaming, didnt like that character.
