Can you put elimi-phos into a sump rather than the filter, the instructions in the box are useless.

I had no luck using those type of products in my marine tank, Make sure you are using r-o water when doing a water change. If your bulbs are more them six months old, they start emitting more light that is beneficial to algae and slime growth. Also, a wave maker is fairly inexpensive, and the increased water flow stops the stuff from growing. Remove all slime growth often, the more there is, the faster it grows.

it depends on the sump, i.e the size and texture, but elimi should always be done in a fliter as this protects from germs and bacteria.
