I installed this pirated game yesterday and it didnt work. So I uninstalled it and it left behind some file with Brontok in its name. It looks like some sort of virus to me so i try downloading bazooka spyware scanner or other well known anti virus programs and every time i try downloading something, the pc reboots. I delete the file too but it keeps reappearing after a while. I will be very grateful if anyone can solve this problem of mine.

Hi, about.Brontok.A is an kind of infamous disgusting virus, you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar, which can disable the virus, becasue the virus can only run on IE.

firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and spywareware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Try Trendmicro.com and see if their scanners will clean it.

It is a mass emailing virus in the form of a worm. If you had updated anti-virus on your computer it would have caught and cleaned it.

!. Get a good anti virus program.
2. Stop trying to download pirated programs. You were paid back for your deeds.

I had a simular problem and I have windows xp. I had to click on start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore, then click on restore to a different time. Choose the day before you installed the program that you want to remove.CAUTION you will loose all information stored after the date you choose to restore back to. This will not harm your computer it will however cause you to loose the items like pictures, songs, data, programs, etc. that you have downloaded since the date you select.Everything prior to that date will be uneffected.Good Luck

I restores itself because it camouflauged itself as a system file. Windows XP restores deleted system files so the virus keeps coming back.

Go to my computer, click system restore, then click the checkbox that says, "Turn off system restore on all drives". then delete the virus again, then restart/reboot.
