If you are referring to that Deliverance on which the 1972's hit film was based....then the writer of this Deliverance is none other than James Dickey. Hope you have seen the classic movie with all star cast including Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty....they excelled in this first-rate film about a canoe trip dwn a dangerous river. John Boorman who directed the the movie was accalimed for keeping the pace of the original novel.
