Your question: How does Israel justify their "deeds" in Lebanon?

Your other question: Why do Jews consider themselves to be God's favorite people?

Answer to question # 1:

If Isreal needed to justify their actions in Lebanon, it is quite simple. Israel wants no part of Lebanon. Israel removed ALL their military from Southern Lebanon in the year 2000. (The ONLY reason Israel had their military there was to prevent Hizbollah from getting close to the Israeli border and attack Israel) Six years later, since the Lebanese army could not or did not WANT to control Hizbollah (a well organized, well equipped terrorist organization) and keep them away from the Israeli border, Hizbollah decided to invade Israel and kidnap 2 Israeli soldiers and if that was not enough, they launch a barrage of missles into soverign Israeli territory. Also, these missles DO NOT lock onto military targets, they are shot randomly and MOST of the time hit civilian populations without ANY military presence. Israels incursion into Lebanon has been to defend its homeland and its people. If Lebanese civilians have been the victims, is ONLY Hizbollahs fault. Hizbollah is just a terrorist faction and their modis operandi is to use civilian women and children mostly as sheilds. They do not have military installations. They fire their missiles and other weapons from peoples homes.

Therefore, Israel is completely justified in defending itself against ANY enemy that actively seeks to annihlate it.

Beleive me, Israel as a government and the Israeli people want to be left in peace to go about their regular lives. Jews value and respect life. Their own and others.

Answer to question # 2:

I have NEVER heard any Jews claim to be God's favorite. The only people I hear claiming that the Jews are the "Chosen People" are from the non-Jews. So this whole never-ending story of how the Jews consider themselves the "Chosen People" is rhetoric from those non-Jews who want to find a justification to their hatred.

The Lebanese had no choice.
Hezbolla is a party with weapons, it can not be forced to do anything by the Government, otherwise Lebanon would go to civil war again.

The other option is to DEBATE! Obviously Hezbolla did not believe is that option either since they went and captured two Israeli soldiers...

Now Lebanon is paying for Hezbolla's punishment ... Kids, Women, elders... it is all very unfair.

Change the word Jew to Muslim and you have the other side of the question .
At least the Jews give warning before flattening an area , giving people a chance to get out of the way .

Since no one else has answered, the Jews, or Israelites are God's chosen people as written in the Bible. They have been on the outs with God many times but they are still his chosen.

It's called survival. Read UN resolution 1559. Israel complied with the directive of the UN. Lebanon and Hezbollah did not. Israel's sworn enemy moved rockets and other military equipment right up to Israel's border.
If your neighbor, sworn to kill you and take your home, shows up on your front lawn with a grenade launcher, are you going to just sit there and wait for him to do something? I don't think so.
