What you did is right...you went to TOOLS and then INTERNET OPTIONS and deleted the history and the cookies..but what you might also want to delete is the Temporary Internet files which contain copies of the websites that you visited...to do this you need to:
-Click on TOOLS
-Select INTERNET OPTIONS
-Click on "Delete Files" in the category of TEMPORARY INTETNET FILES
After you delete that and the cookies, and the history you are safe, nobody can see the websites that you have visited.
If you want to delete the files/documents that you have seen from the applications on your computer such as Microsoft Word, Photoshop(in case you opened porn pics) and stuff like that...you need to:
-Click on START
-Click on CONTROL PANEL
-Double-click on TASKBAR AND START MENU
-On the top click on the tab that says "Start Menu"
-Click on "Customize..."
-On the top click on the tab that says "Advanced"
-On the bottom click on "Clear List"
-Click "OK" to get out of that window
-Click "OK" again to finish.
This should leave the computer just as if you didn't even use it...I hope this is somewhat helpful.

Well I try to clean out my computer when it starts to run slow and sometimes even after I've gone through all the steps you have gone through, Some stuff is still there. So try this:
Go to My Computer
then Control Panel
then Performance and Maintenance
then there's an option that says "free up space on your hard disk" click on that.
Then it will ask you which DRIVE pick C.
when the list pops up it will show you how much you will gain by deleting these files and you can also view them, also it's best when you view your temporary Internet files as Thumbnail.
Good luck,hopefully I didn't confuse you.

Deleting "Internet Cache and History" will not protect you completely. Any of the web pages, pictures, movies, sounds, e-mail, chat logs and everything else you see or do could easily be recovered (and sadly haunt you forever!).
Check out Evidence Eliminator, a very smart and thorough product that will save you from doing it all manually. It cleans not only your browser, but registry and swap disk. It also wipes lists kept by Windows of files viewed. There's also a way to clear movies viewed in Windows Media Player.

If you are looking for a more basic cleaner that's not as bulletproof, but gets rid of most of the obvious stuff that spouses or children might find then look at Privacy Shedder

Depends who 'they' are. You can always find out what sites you visited by your IP-address and that info is not stored on your computer. Also Tracking cookies may have sent your visits to interested parties before you deleted them from your computer.
If it is just your computer you as worried about. Only a full wipe and reinstall will secure recovery form any info on it.
But to 'survive' a simple check you did it all. Should not be a problem.

Everything you do is kept somewhere in the hardrive whether you delete it or not, people who have degrees in computer software and computers know how to get to it, even if you reformat the hardrive you can still have files on that hardrive, you would have to go buy a new hardrive and replace the new hard drive with the old one to be totally sure that nobody could ever see anything on that harddrive.

I honestly think that your web sites can't be viewed unless your machine would be seized by the FBI or law enforcement. They have ways to get your information. If all you are looking at is standard porn, you've got no problem. If what you are looking at is illegal, you're in trouble.
