It wasn't really advice, but more of a commandment from the Bible :
If you are able to help someone and you don't, it's a sin. For example; If someone asks you for money and you have it & can afford to loan it to them, but you don't just because you don't want to, God considers you a greedy, selfish, materialistic person. He considers your unwillingness to help a sin.
This has helped me make countless unselfish decisions over the years.

Well, don't remember, at this time any, but... it was from my cousin. It was the best advice from her side and a promise to her from my side. Referring to her friend's serious problem that her friend had a boy friend and they made some serious "mistakes" some 3 times and now the boy was avoiding her and thereby making her life miserable. You can guess what the "mistakes"
were.

My cousin simply asked me to promise her that in my life I'd never do that to any girl (before marriage) and spoil her life or play with her emotions and hurt her feelings. I promised her that I would not ever do anything like that. And since then I have always kept my promise and controlled my senses and I am happy that I have never done anything which may put me to shame in my own eyes. Thanks to my cousin that she gave me a very good advice, however I am not like that and have not made any girl friend here yet.

I have to tell you, the best advice i ever recieved was from a guy who was a few years younger than i was. I was in the beginning stages of a divorce,we were going back and forth trying to work things out, we both knew it wasnt going to...and he said (it doesnt matter if you wake up alone or next to someone......you still have to face yourself in the morning)we divorced a month later..................he killed 2 people and is currently serving a life sentence in another state.

My late father adviced me to study at the University two carreers at the same time. I didn't. Now I'm stuck with the one I like the least, hating myself for letting him down and wanting to give up because I hate studying this. I certainly whish I would have listened.

The best advice I have had so far would be from my Business studies teacher.
She said, "Never let any bastard look after you, you do it yourself cause you never know, one day you might have no choice but to"

Yep, sure took it & it sure worked well!!!

That the world doesn't have to be a better place because I've been in it but I'm obligated not to live any worse because I've been in it. From my Daddy and yes I use it.

"Keep the best to yourself" - by my grandmother (in a sense that you shouldn´t talk about everything that goes on in your life with anyone, not even your best friend)

And, yes, I´ve used it when I met my husband.
