I enjoyed reading the Screwtape Letters. While my favorite Lewis work will always remain The Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters are quite good. I also enjoyed The Great Divorce, another fictional allegory.

I think it was an interesting and entertaining way to comment on morality in daily life. Even if you don't believe in angels and demons, it does a good job of showing how people often take the easy path toward being thoughtless, selfish, unfair, etc. In fact, I think it should be rewritten, updating the values and behaviors for modern times. Some of the values in the book are outdated, but we need moral values expressed now as much as ever. I could see it as a movie starring Adam Sandler...!

Yes. Well-written as all Lewis' work is.

Some of the stuff on male-female relationships is now distinctly out-of-date.
