hello friends,
i have a broadband(cable-net) connection and my speed is 25 kbps but when i download i get a speed of 4 kbps.
any suggestions for speeding it up.
pls reply.

hummmm...try `net speed boosters' there are several software program available on net.
I will advice you to download one from `Cnet' or so good site & install it.

You will most likely not notice any speed increase or decrease with a different modem, even a high quality name brand one. The speed is determined by your ISp and they type of service you signed up for. The only thing a better modem will do is potentially provide you with more stability. In other words you'll have to reset it less and it might last longer, but no speed increase.

If you really only get 25 kbps on cable, you need to get a new provider, because my old dial up was faster than that. How much are you paying?! It better not be more than $5.00, for your sake. A year.

25kbps? Are you sure?
An old dial-up modem can connect up to 56kbps, so 25kbps is not very fast at all.
And realize that download speeds are measured in KB/s, not kbps. There are 8 bits in 1 byte. So a 25kbps connection can download at 3.2 KB/s.

download internet download manager 5.03, boostes downloading speed by 500% (5 times) go here... http://www.download.com and search there
