Mixing genes causes change, which over time would produce better and better offspring by pure chance.
A single organism reproducing itself would never change and therefore never evolve to improve itself.
In a world where only the strongest survives, that advantage would make mixing genes the dominant method of reproduction.
That's why no complex single sex creatures (there are single cell creatures like that) but why not three sexes instead of two? Maybe this added complexity doesn't provide any advantage, and would therefore be a liability, and would not tend to survive.
Pure speculation... :-)

Because three times as many more plants than humans could be born that way. Plus, Man and Woman each have a purpose. The woman was entrusted to bear life, and was also the vessel used to bring the Savior into the world. No man had a part in that. A woman is usually the go between in arbitrations needing tact to solve, because she has the more kinder and gentler personality. The male is usually the head of all creations: the children, the animals, the land.
Men by nature, are more aggressive, and this has its place in this world. Aggression, tempered with Kindness, makes a far more interesting world. And finally, Man and Mankind, have souls. Plants and vegetation don't.
Every other creature has a help mate, and God saw Man as needing one as well.

There are humans that are born like that they are called hermaphrodites. Today, this is usually seen as a birth defect, doctors usually do surgery to assign a gender, but this can be a problem for the individual in later life, as the assigned gender may not be the same as the individuals psychological gender.
Two gender sex is a better option than self fertilization because it increases the genetic diversity of a species and that gives the species an evolutionary advantage.

I don't know why nobody is answering your question! (You're asking a biology/science question, not a biblical theology question.)
Sexual reproduction arrived very early in the evolution of animals (and many plants have it too). It turned out to be a very successful way of generating *lots* of new and stable species. Why? Because it allows mixing and matching of genes betwen two individual in the creation of every single new individual (offspring) ... which generates a lot of variation, and thus lots of ways to explore new environments and niches, or to survive in times where the environment changes rapidly.
This is why sexual reproduction produces new species much faster than asexual or hermaphroditic reproduction ... which is why the animal kingdom is overwhelmingly dominated by sexual reproduction.
There are many animal species that have hermaphroditic reproduction (one individual having both sexes), but among the vertebrates this is very rare. Humans just happen to be among the vast majority of vertebrates that use sexual reproduction.
And of course, in humans as in many species, it is quite normal for a small population of *individuals* to be born as hermaphrodites, but again this is rare. (Incidentally, there is a difference between 'rare' and 'abnormal' ... hermaphodites are quite normal, in my opinion, as they occur as part of the normal variation in humans. It is cruel to suggest otherwise.)
So summary: Sexual reproduction is so common in species because it is so good at generating new species.

The mans asking a serious question, why bring the "bible" into this. Its just a stupid story.
The main reason is for evolution, 2 ppl make children that are like both of them and take a little from each and become something different other then a copy.

Man was made first. He was meant to be the only type. Then God saw he was lonely, so God created Woman from his rib.
Then the man had companionship.
We were not created to be loney.
