Defiently optical mouse. After a point you will realise that touch pad takes more effort and you cannot work with precision in Adobe photoshop or sound editing etc. Optical mouse is better and faster and provides precise control and puts less stress on the fingers and wrist.

We can't that one of these two devices is better than the other. One of them would be more suitable for the user than the second. It's a matter of feeling. Do you feel at ease working with the mouse rather than the touchpad? then It's the right device for you. Others would prefer the touchpad. What you need to do here is to test them both and check you feeling. Sometimes the choice is dictated by the place you are in. If you are working with your laptop in your lap, so you have to use the touchpad. There's no choice here. The choice is available only in your office. Good luck

u mean touchpad v/s trackball , right
technically, there is no such thing as better
just a matter of user preference !
that's reason even today, many notebooks have both
especially ibm thinkpads, now lenovo
touchpads r easier to operate, but the trackball's r faster - once u get used 2 them

Really depends on preferences and usage. I prefer a mouse when there's room. Better control over the cursor. You can't really do things like draw or touch-up photos well with the touch pad. Touch-pad is fine when traveling or little room.

an optical mouse is friendlier to your arms and wrist, and is also more like what you're used to with a desktop computer. highly recommended.
