The first time I really fell in love with someone, the feelings were overwhelming. It was a whirlwind of emotions. I was consumed by my thoughts of him. I had trouble concentrating on things. When we weren't together, everything I looked at reminded me of him. Smells, songs, objects, etc. were all reminders of him.
When you're in love, the object of your affections can become your world. You want to do everything in your power to make this person happy, to keep him from harm, and possibly spend the rest of your life together. The song, "I Want to Grow Old With You" from the movie, "The Wedding Singer," epitomizes love.
It's for real every time. It may not necessarily last forever but when it's happening, it's always real. Things change and people change but what you feel in that instant can never change.

Do you get funny feelings in the pit of your stomach?
Do you ever get jealous?
Can you imagine growing old together?
Do you feel overly protective of this person?
Do you want to spend every god-given minute with him/her?
Do you feel you can be yourself 110% around them and vice versa?
Do they make you happy?
Do you think similar things?
Would you do anything to help one another out?
Would you sacrifice a lot to be with this person forever?
If the answer to a lot of these is 'no' then its probably not love. It could possibly be lust instead - two very different things.
I am in love and this is what I would describe love as being.

yes. im in love with my girlfriend. u know if u in love because u get jelous over silly things.
my girlfriend moved back to america last month and im in london england i dont get to see her till november. we still talk on fone but it not the same and it hurts bad.
also when u think about someone every second of the day thats when u know u in love.

its a combination of thinking about that special person all the time and when you are not with them you want to be with them. He has increased physiological arousal meaning that you may become more jealous or even become more angry or sad...so its 80% a great feeling and 20% bad.

i think you know when ur in love is that you cant stop thinking about the person. from my experience iv recently got back with me ex girlfriend and i think about her every second of the day.
also if you would do anything for this person and no one else might give you an indication its love.
